John Nash Read – Tennessee Grave Marking

Three Compatriots from the Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter journeyed to Smyrna, Tennessee, on April 25 to attend the grave marking ceremony in memory of Maj. John Nash Read.  Tony Dothsuk, Steve Mallory, and Geoff Baggett took part in the Color Guard’s presentation of colors.  Geoff and Tony presented and placed the chapter wreath at the grave site.  Steve Mallory fired his weapon in the three-shot salute.

The Stones River Chapter, Tennessee Society Sons of the American Revolution and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, TNDAR Stones River Chapter, hosted the Grave Marking at the Templeton Grove Cemetery. Compatriot Edward Phillips, Vice President of the Andrew Crockett Chapter, gave Greetings from our Tennessee State Society. Compatriot Glenn Taylor, President of the Stones River Chapter, gave Greetings and a brief History of the Patriot. Charlotte Reynolds, DAR State Vice Regent, gave Greetings from the DAR Tennessee Society. There were many descendants and family members of John Nash Read in attendance.

The Color Guard was commanded by Tennessee State Commander David Miles Vaughn, along with KYSSAR (Col Stephen Trigg Chapter) and ALSSAR Color Guard members.
