Spring Elementary Poster Contest

The SAR’s Elementary Poster Contest has a January 15 deadline for local chapters to submit their winning entry for the Kentucky Society’s statewide competition.  Unfortunately, many schools do not teach the colonial period and Revolutionary War curriculum until the Spring semester.  Since we did not want any school to miss out on the opportunity to participate in the project and competition, we have created our very own Spring Elementary Poster Contest!

Here’s how it works …

Local public schools, private schools, or homeschool groups/networks can host their schools Poster Contest through the end of April during the Spring Semester.

The teacher(s) in each school/group is responsible for judging and selecting their winners.  The following awards will be granted at each school:

  • School Grand Prize Winner (Chosen from among all participating classes – Receives an embossed certificate, engraved Citizenship Medal, and a $20 Cash Award)
  • Individual Class Winner (Chosen in each class – receives an embossed certificate and engraved Citizenship Medal)
  • Certificate of Participation – Awarded to EVERY participant that submits a poster.

All awards will be presented by a Col. Stephen Trigg SAR compatriot in Revolutionary War attire.  The School Grand Prize Winner will be entered into competition against all other schools, and a Col. Stephen Trigg Spring Elementary Poster Contest Champion will be chosen on May 1.  This champion will receive the SAR’s Bronze Good Citizenship Medal and a $50 cash award!
