February 2014

  • 16th (Sunday) – Planting the George Washington Cherry Tree – 3:00 PM – Trigg County Elementary School.
  • 17th (Monday), 8:40 AMRadio Appearance – Chapter President Geoff Baggett will be on an on-air-interview at WKDZ Radio, speaking about George Washington’s Birthday Holiday and the Cherry Tree Commemoration.
  • 17th (Monday) – Washington’s Birthday Commemoration – Our chapter will be dedicating the cherry tree and stone marker in honor of our first president.  Trigg County Elementary School, 11:00 AM.
  • 18th (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM @ Crossroads Fellowship – Regular Chapter Meeting.    Program: “Resources for Assembling Your Uniform”
  • 19th (Wednesday), 8:30 AM – Presentation of the George Washington Portrait from the Mt. Vernon Ladies’ Association, Trigg County Intermediate School.
  • 21st (Friday) – Lakeland Elementary School, Lakeland, Tennessee – Speakers Bureau speaking to the 4th Grade at this school near Memphis, Tennessee, and awarding certificates to students who made the best posters in each class, as well as Certificates of Appreciation to the participating teachers and principal.
  • 26th (Wednesday) – Trigg County Intermediate School – Speakers Bureau speaking to Mrs. Amy Carneyhan’s 5th grade class.

March 2014

  • 8th (Saturday) – KYSSAR Annual/Spring Meeting & Luncheon – Location: Holiday Inn Louisville East – Hurstbourne, 1325 S. Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville, KY – Time: 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Pres. Geoff Baggett will be attending.  Please let him know if you are interested in going.
  • 18th (Tuesday) – 10:00 AM – Speaker’s Bureau – Pennyrile Area Christian Home Educators of Kentucky (PACHEK), Christ Community Hopkinsville, 10:00 – 12:00 Noon
  • 18th (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM @ Crossroads Fellowship – Regular Chapter Meeting.    Program: TBA
  • 22nd (Saturday) – 1:00 PM – William Addison Grave Marking – Gant Cemetery in Todd County.  This is the patriot descendant of our new compatriot, Dr. Dennis Adams.  We will meet at the Crossroads Fellowship parking lot at 11:30 AM and “convoy” over to the cemetery.  The Gov. Isaac Shelby Chapter will be joining us and helping lead in the commemoration.

April 2014

  • 8th (Tuesday) – Kentucky Society 125th Anniversary Celebration – 2:00 PM in the Senate Chamber of the Old Capital Building 300 West Broadway Street, Frankfort, KY  40601.  This is the same room that the founders of the Kentucky Society met in 1889 to organize the Society.
  • 15th (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM – Regular Chapter Meeting
  • 19th (Saturday) – Patriot’s Day Holiday Grave Marking – Pvt. Miles Hollowell, Trigg County – 2:00 PM – Larkins Cemetery, located on P’Pool Road.

May 2014

  • 11-17 National Police Week – Award “Law Enforcement Commendation Medals”
  • 16th (Friday) – Posthumous LEC Medal Presentation to the Family of Ronald L. “Ronnie” Murphy, Lyon County Courthouse, Eddyville, KY – 1:00 PM (For carpool, be at Crossroads Fellowship parking lot by 12:00 Noon.)
  • 18-25 National EMS Week – Award “Emergency Medical Services Medals” 
  • 18th – EMS Medal Presentation (Name withheld for surprise presentation.)
  • 20th (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM – Regular Chapter Meeting – LEC Medal Presentation to Randle G. Cruse.
  • 24th-25th Vincennes Rondezvous – Vincennes, Indiana – Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter Will Present a Wreath at the Memorial Service (This is a SAR “National Event.”)
  • 26th (Monday) – Memorial Day Holiday – Annual Program with the DAR – 10:00 AM, Cadiz Renaissance Center.
  • 26th (Monday) – 12:00 Noon – Dedication of the Veterans Memorial Plaza in Eddyville

June 2014

  • 13th (Friday) – Field of Flags Assistance to the American Legion – 10:00 AM
  • 14th (Saturday) – Flag Day Commemoration – 10:00 AM – Cadiz Wall and Flagpole in the Tollgate Commons. (Uniform “Color Guard” Event)
  • 17th (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM – Regular Chapter Meeting

July 2014

  • 3rd (Thursday) – Flag Proclamation and Recognition –  4:00 PM – Location not published due to surprise nature of this proclamation and presentation. (This is a “Color Guard”  Uniform Event)
  • 4th (Friday) – Independence Day Holiday – Reading of the Declaration of Independence in Front of the Courthouse (This is a “Color Guard” Uniform Event)
  • 5th (Saturday) – “Star Spangled Event” – Adsmore Museum Princeton   (Flags and Historic Display at the Adsmore Museum –  This is a “Color Guard” Uniformed Event.)
  • 12th (Saturday) – “Field of Flags” Retirement Ceremony – 9:00 AM (This is a “Color Guard” Uniform Event)
  • 15th (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM – Regular Chapter Meeting
  • 19th (Saturday) – 10:00 AM – James Thomas Grave Marking (In conjunction with the Thomas-Bridges Association Reunion – a Uniform “Color Guard” Event)

August 2014

  • 10th – Special Presentation – Crossroads Fellowship Pavilion, 3:00 PM (Color Guard Uniform Event)
  • 16th – Battle of Blue Licks Memorial Service – Blue Licks Battlefield State Park, 10299 Maysville Rd., Carlisle, KY      Time: 10:30 a.m. (District Uniform “Color Guard” Event).

September 2014

  • 7th (Sunday) – 2:00 PM “In Honor and Remembrance Day” Program – Trigg County Senior Citizens Center. (Uniform “Color Guard” Event)
  • 16th (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM – Regular Chapter Meeting
  • 17th (Wednesday) – Constitution Day
  • 18th (Thursday) – Constitution Week Historical Speaker – Trigg County Intermediate School – 1:30 PM – This is a Color Guard / Uniform Event!  We need as many Compatriots as possible to come and help distribute 550 Pocket Constitutions to the students and faculty of the school!
  • 18th (Thursday) Constitution Week Speaker – Eddie Price.  John L. Street Library – 6:00 PM.

October 2014

  • 4th (Saturday) -2:00 PM –  Pvt. John Mabry Grave Marking, Sugar Jim Mitchell Cemetery – Reddick Pond Rd., Trigg County, KY.
  • 10th-11th (Friday & Saturday) – Trigg County Ham Festival – Our chapter will have a booth in this year’s festival. We will use this booth to share information, recruit new members, host a fundraiser raffle, and sell wreath sponsorships for “Wreaths Across America.”  Compatriots MUST be prepared to help staff the booth IN UNIFORM in October!  We also need to design a rustic, period canvas tent shelter.
  • 21st  (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM – Regular Chapter Meeting
  • 22nd (Wednesday) – 8:30-11:30 AM – Caldwell County Elementary School Field Trip – “History in a Trunk” presentation.  Location is at the Princeton / Caldwell County Park.  Six 30-minute presentations to six classes in succession.

November 2014

  • 7th-8th (Friday-Saturday) – KYSSAR Fall Training and Meeting – University of the Cumberlands – Williamsburg, KY
  • 10th (Monday) – Patriotic Concert at Cadiz Baptist Church – 7:00 PM
  • 11th (Tuesday) – Veteran’s Day Parade and Ceremony – 11:00 AM
  • 18th (Tuesday) – 6:30 PM – Regular Chapter Meeting
  • 22nd (Saturday) –  2:00 PM – Triple Patriot Grave Marking Ceremony – Old Hebron Church Cemetery – Muhlenberg County, KY – Patriots John Hunt, John Harper, and David Engler

December 2014

  • 3rd (Wednesday) – [Speaker’s Bureau / Student Educational Program] – Heritage Christian Academy 4th Grade Classes / Poster Contest Awards
  • 5th (Friday) – [Speaker’s Bureau / Student Educational Program] 8:00-10:00 – North Calloway Elementary School 5th Grade Classes – 3 Class Presentations
  • 6th (Saturday) – Cadiz Christmas Parade – 6:00-7:00 PM
  • 7th (Sunday) 2:00 PM – Pearl Harbor Day World War II Commemoration – Barkley Plantation Assisted Living Community – Cadiz By-Pass.  We will honor four World War II Veterans in residence, host a WWII Remembrance, and throw a “Big Band Party” for the residents.
  • 13th (Saturday) – 10:00 AM – Wreaths Across America – Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West (Hopkinsville)
  • 13th (Saturday) – 5:00 PM – Catered Annual Dinner – Crossroads Fellowship, 264 Commerce Street.  Awards / Medals Swearing in of 2015 Officers
