Burt Elementary School – Clarksville, Tennessee

The Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter “Classroom Tour” continued this morning in Clarksville, Tennessee, as Compatriots Steve Mallory and Geoff Baggett made three presentations to six 4th grade classes at the Burt Elementary School in downtown Clarksville.

The team started the day off with a first … they appeared on a live video announcement feed that was broadcast to every class in the school.  Then, for the next three hours they spoke in two different locations, bringing a living history experience to every 4th grade student in the school!

As always, the grand finale “dress up” portion was a big hit, complete with pony-tail wig for the boy in each group.

After all presentations were complete, Compatriots Baggett and Mallory presented the Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter’s “Teacher’s Award for Patriotism” to Brookie Myers, 4th Grade Teacher at Burt Elementary, who made the arrangements to bring living history to her classes and to the school.

Our Compatriots ended the day with a big, “Huzzah!” with the final class and received an enthusiastic invitation to return next year.

Good job guys! The students are excited!

  2. Brookie Myers Says:

Thank you so much for coming to Burt Elementary. The kids were given a look into the life of a soldier during the Revolutionary War. I know several of the students went how and shared what they learned from the presentation. I plan on inviting you all next school year.
