HamFest 2014 – Day 1

Well … the weather didn’t cooperate very well today.  We endured periods of rain, sometimes hard rain, throughout the day.  The crowd was also drastically smaller than most years.  But we still made lots of great contacts.  We received about $100 in knife ticket sales, received sponsorships for 12 wreaths for Wreaths Across America, and gave out dozens of WAA forms that folks can mail in.

Here are a few pics from today …

Our chapter's booth ... hands down the most creative and best themed booth at the festival!

And Steve Mallory made the first sale of Hamfest!  Before the morning ever started, he sold a custom-made bench for $100.  He made the bench as a fundraiser toward the $445 needed to place tombstones and markers on his Patriot ancestors’ graves in November.

David Sutton, owner of Cherokee Antiques, with his new bench! And Steve with $100 toward his goal!
