October Visit to Pennyroyal Veteran’s Center

Chapter President Geoff Baggett made a solo visit to the Veteran’s Center on October 3.  Over the past month, Compatriots from our chapter who are church members at Crossroads Fellowship in Cadiz have led the church to collect more needed items for the 50-bed facility.

Baggett delivered six pairs of steel-toed boots (an absolute necessity for work in local plants), twelve pairs of jeans, and seven sets of men’s underwear and t-shirts.  In addition, he delivered a check from an anonymous donor to the cause in the amount of $1,240!  Part of the funds will be earmarked for more boots and work uniforms.  A significant amount will purchase a bicycle rack and five bicycles for men to have transportation to nearby work locations.

While visiting the facility, Baggett also recognized two more men with the chapter’s Veteran’s Appreciation Medallion and a certificate.  They are pictured below: Louis Felicetta of the U.S. Navy and James Willis of the U.S. Marine Corps (Vietnam).
