Third Law Enforcement Medal Presented Today!

This evening compatriots of the Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter presented their third Law Enforcement Commendation Medal of 2014.  The recipient was Randle G. Cruse.

Mr Cruse entered the service of the Kentucky State Police in July 1971, serving in Kenton County, Mayfield, and later Trigg County. He primarily served in Trigg County until his retirement in 1994, retiring at the rank of Senior Trooper. He also served as his post Hostage Negotiator and in Accident Reconstruction.  He was recommended by Compatriot Ken Oakley who knew him in law enforcement when Mr. Oakley served ad sheriff of Trigg County.

After his retirement, Mr. Cruse became a licensed Land Surveyor. He continues to operate his own business and serve the community in the elected office of Trigg County Surveyor.

Mr. Cruse is also a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1969-1971.  The chapter also presented him with a Veteran’s Appreciation Certificate and Challenge Medal in gratitude for his military service.

Chapter president Geoff Baggett also revealed some surprises in Mr. Cruse’s genealogy and told him about two confirmed patriots in his family tree, one a Colonel in the Washington County, Maryland, militia!  The chapter enthusiastically encouraged him to consider becoming a member of the SAR.
