Chapter President Geoff Baggett presented the Veteran’s Appreciation Certificate and Challenge coin to Brian Davis of Cadiz. Brian is an engineer at Transcraft Corporation. Brian served in the United States Air Force from 1987 until 1996. His job specialty was Avionics. When he left the service he was a Staff Sergeant (E-5).

This looks like it will be an INCREDIBLE musical event, featuring the 101st Airborne Division Band!  Tomorrow night in Hopkinsville at Second Baptist Church, 720 W. 7th Street.

Two Veterans Honored

Tim Burlingame, Tim Wagoner, Mac Barnes, Glenn Greenfield

Compatriots Jerry Burlingame and Glenn Greenfield recently presented Veteran’s Appreciation Certificates and Challenge Medals to U.S. Army veterans Tim Wagoner and Mac Barnes.

Mr. Wagoner was a WO-2 Helicopter Pilot/Aviator for six years, and continues to fly today in civilian aviation. He also operates his own farm.

Mr. Barnes is a retired First Sergeant, having served his full twenty years in the Army. After his discharged, he continued his military career as a private contractor/operator and served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He now works in manufacturing.

Both men are very involved in their church, Crossroads Fellowship in Cadiz.

What an incredible day!  Approximately 80 people attended the special Patriot’s Day Grave Marking Ceremony for Private Miles Hollowell.  That total included over thirty descendants, over twenty SAR Compatriots, and several ladies from the DAR.  It was also exciting to see reporters from the Cadiz Record and the Kentucky New Era, as well as WKDZ Radio!

Veterans Honored

Our chapter has recognized two veterans this past week and honored them with a “Veterans’ Appreciation Certificate” and a Veterans’ Medallion/Coin.”

Jerry Swinford, a Cadiz resident, is a former United States Marine, having served with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion of the 7th Marines in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.  New Compatriot “recruit” Dylan Lancaster presented him with his certificate and challenge coin.

United States Army Veteran (Retired) - Ray Aquino

United States Army Veteran (Retired) – Ray Aquino

Ray Aquino is a retired veteran of the U.S. Army, serving twenty years from 1979 to 1999. His primary job was in the infantry.  He also served as the commander of a Bradley Fighting Vehicle.  He served in combat in the Grenada Invasion, Panama Invasion, and Operation Desert Storm in Iraq. He has lived in Trigg County for eighteen years. He currently works part-time at the Trigg County Hospital and is attending college in pursuit of a degree.  Compatriot Glenn Greenfield presented him with his certificate and challenge coin.
