Trigg Chapter to Place a George Washington Portrait in Local School

In response to one of the 2013-14 initiatives of the President-General of the NSSAR, the Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter will be placing a beautiful framed portrait of George Washington in a prominent location at the Trigg County Intermediate School.  Principal Brian Futrell has placed a request for this portrait to be placed in his school.

The portraits are provided by the Mt. Vernon Ladies’ Association, in collaboration with local chapters of the SAR.  The Col. Trigg Chapter is in the process of raising the $250 donation required to have the portrait placed.

Here is a photo of the classic portrait:

Compatriots plan to present the framed portrait on Friday, February 21, the day before George Washington’s actual birthday.  The chapter will host another commemoration on the “official” George Washington’s Birthday holiday on Monday, February 17.
